Christmas

Every year my family celebrates the day Jesus was born. This holiday is called Christmas. Before December 25th, every year for weeks and weeks we spend all of our time buying presents for all of our family and friends. We also spend many hours wrapping the presents to make them all look very pretty. Giving presents to our friends and family shows thanks and love to one another. Christmas is also very exciting for younger children. They all get in the holiday spirit and believe in Santa Clause, and if they aren't good then they get coal for Christmas. I was very upset when I found out Santa Clause wasn't real. But even though he isn't real, I still share the love and joy for Christmas.

After we're prepared and ready for Christmas, on Christmas Eve Aunt Beverly, Uncle Marshall, Josie, Savannah, and Jesse come to our house and hang out together. They come over Christmas Eve because they have to go to other family member's houses on Christmas. We spend the night drinking hot chocolate and sitting by the fire. We also go ahead and exchange our presents with each other. Last year they got me a 5lb chocolate bar. It still sits in my freezer because I haven't finished it yet. After we give each other our presents, we bake cookies, put milk in a cup, and write a note to Santa. Then they go home and we all go to sleep waiting for Christmas to come.

Early on Christmas morning my father, my mother, and I wake up very early and open all of our presents under the beautiful tree my mom decorated. After we have all opened all of our presents, my grandmother comes over and starts cooking. Her and my mother stay in the kitchen all morning getting ready for the wonderful lunch we all have. Around noon the rest of the family shows up. We have about 3 long tables full of people, and a whole kitchen and two table full of food and deserts. With the amount of food we all eat, we at least gain about 10 pounds. After everybody eats, we all have something to do. Either half of us will sit on the couch and watch television, or go outside and ride the four-wheelers, dirt-bikes, and horses. Then sadly the amazing holiday is over, and we have to go back to school.
